Activities
Safaris and game drives are hosted by guides who have a vast knowledge of the flora and fauna of Maasai Mara. Learn about the use of herbs and shrubs growing in our surroundings on a nature walk and witness the nightly theatre on a night game drive. Dine at our al fresco and later enjoy an evening at the bar. Experience the African sunset with cocktail and canapés around a log fire with a short night game drive back to the lodge for dinner. For that wild experience, we do organise bush breakfast for a chance to enjoy your freshly prepared breakfast, al fresco, in the middle of the plains, surrounded by wildlife.
Sustainability
The organisation ST-EP – Sustainable tourism eliminating poverty was founded by the World Tourism Organisation in 2005, promoting poverty elimination through sustainable tourism development. The lodge follows the 7 ST-EP mechanism to channel the socio-economic benefits of tourism. A responsible and sustainable approach to tourism is key element in the ethos of Spirit of the Masai Mara. We proudly support community projects in the local area focusing on education, employment and livelihoods. The lodge recently coordinated funding to build classrooms at the Sekenani Secondary School, which was opened by the local Member of Parliament in April. We are currently raising funds to construct the next phase of dormitories and we encourage our guests to visit the local community as part of our 7 ST-EP programme.
