Raila Odinga Pushes For National Dialogue

Raila Odinga pushes for dialogueAzimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has defended his call for national dialogue, emphasizing that it will be a conversation driven by the people rather than a means for sharing Cabinet positions. Despite pressure from opposition leaders urging him to abandon the multi-sectoral forum, which they view as a trap set by President William Ruto, Mr. Odinga insists that the dialogue will be people-led and not just a discussion between him and the President. He stated that the purpose of the forum is to address issues affecting the country.

While Mr. Odinga is working hard to convince his supporters to back the dialogue initiative, he faces increasing pressure to abandon his cooperation with the President and the planned multi-sectoral dialogue forum. Some of his critics argue that he should instead allow the youth to pursue their efforts to dissolve the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Among those present in Kakamega were Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni, DAP-Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa, and Governors Fernandes Barasa, James Orengo, Simba Arati, and Paul Otuoma, along with several MPs.
