Mara Chui Resort

Mara Chui resort is carefully engineered to blend with the Mara safari spirit. The resort is set along the Oloolaimutia stream with exciting game viewing right at your door.

Rooms

Your room is your window onto some of the world’s more spectacular scenery. Each of our 41 cottages is designed to be your home away from home throughout your stay, you won’t want to miss. You’ve heard of glamping but this isn’t camping as you know it. Our 41 cottages are super stylish and unlike any cottages you’ve ever experienced.

Dining

From beverages to an authentic Kenyan nyama choma, all dietary requirements and demands are catered for with ease. There are 2 restaurants serving Asian and Continental meals and a bar and free afternoon tea in bar house. The bar offers a music and a projector system which can use for conference meeting. Your experience will be spiced up with a barbecue every 2 nights. The fruits & vegetables are served fresh. At breakfast, a continental buffet will be served with hot dishes available. Bread and pastries are baked daily so you can guarantee they will be fresh that morning. Lunch is normally served on the main deck with individual tables and you can order from the à la carte or buffet menu. In the evening, dinner could be out in the bush or somewhere private just for two.

Game drives

Game drives are designed to take you close to the wildlife-rich spots in the Maasai Mara. This gives you an opportunity to view wild animals in their natural habitat as they go about their daily activities. Game drives are done during the day or night time. Night game drives are however not allowed in the reserve but can be arranged on request.

Balloon safari

To get a birds eye view of the Mara and go hot air ballooning, it is great fun. The trip is magical: spend about 1 hour silently floating over the savannah in a hot air balloon and it will fill you with enough memories to last a lifetime. You take off in the wee hours of the morning, float in the sky, drifting with the whim of the wind, overlooking the plains, just in time to experience a breathtaking sunrise and catch a bird’s eye view of the reserve. After the flight, you will be treated to a luxurious breakfast to complete the experience as you relax and absorb the moment. Expect to pay somewhere in the region of $550 per person. This includes the transfers and a bubbly breakfast.

Walking safari

Walking safaris involves an adventurous trek in the Maasai Mara ecosystem giving you a chance to see the animals in close view. This, however, is not allowed in the Maasai Mara national reserve but is permitted in the conservancies and group ranches that border the Maasai Mara national reserve. The walks are conducted by specially trained Maasai guides who explain the way of the Maasai culture displaying their skills in animal tracking and sharing their immense knowledge on the wildlife. Most camps and lodges offer walking safaris. When making an inquiry for a place to stay, please let them know you are interested in walking.

Location

Mara Chui resort is located within Oloolaimutia to the East part of Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara national reserve. It is 240km from Nairobi 100km from Narok 220km from Naivasha. The flying time from Nairobi Wilson airport to Keekorok airstrip is about an hour and from there, 30 minutes’ drive to the resort.
