Jacaranda Lake Elementaita Lodge

Built in 1916 by Lord Galbraith Cole a white settler, Jacaranda Lake Elementaita lodge sits on a vast piece of land with a panoramic view of Lake Elementaita. It still retains the features and atmosphere of an early colonial home. The lodge is approximately 120kms from Nairobi and 29kms from Nakuru town. It neighbors the famous Kariandusi pre-historic museum at an altitude of 1670 meters or 4200ft above sea level. With its proximity to Lake Elementaita which is internationally known for its rich bird life and the only breeding ground for the white pelicans, guests get to enjoy nature walks while watching the more than 400 species of birds including the famous flamingos.

Bar and restaurant

There are three food and beverage outlets for you to explore. We have the Safari Café offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We Have the Safari Lounge Bar overlooking the swimming pool open from 10am to 10pm. The Pool bar and Restaurant is our stylish cocktail bar offering a wind range of beverages and poolside snacks. The Lord Cole restaurant and bar are situated strategically with a breathtaking view of the Lake Elementaita. With an extension of terrace, one can enjoy watching the sundowner while sipping one of the many varieties of drinks the Lord Cole bar has to offer. The restaurant, with a sitting capacity of 70 pax offers both traditional and international cuisines with a variety of ala-carte BBQ and buffet menus.

Business and conference facilities

The Lodge offers a perfect setting for conferences in a country atmosphere. The facility can comfortably accommodate 50 pax theatre style, 70 pax in a cocktail and 35 pax seminar style.

Pool

Enjoy sitting around the pool, feeling hot? Then why not go for a swim to cool off. We have a beautifully done outdoor pool that measures 8m by 20 m and a baby pool that is 4m by 8m.the pool depth ranges between 0.95m at the shallow end and 1.85m at the deep end. The baby pool is 0.65m deep. We have 23 beds around the pool facing our beautiful gardens.

The Lodge has 33 tastefully furnished rooms comprising 12 twin rooms, 10 double rooms and 11 triple rooms and interconnecting rooms suitable for families. All the rooms are fully furnished with bath and shower, satellite TV, mosquito nets, a wardrobe, full length mirror and shaver sockets.
