Keekorok Lodge Maasai Mara
Keekorok lodge is the 1st lodge located in the Maasai Mara game reserve and it offers old-style stay with private patios. Guests can enjoy views of the wildlife from the outdoor pool or the sundeck. All spacious rooms have a balcony, over looking the garden, pool or reserve. They are equipped with a ceiling fan, allergy free bedding and nets. The lodge serves old-style dishes in the Hippo bar, over looking the lake. The Elephant deck provides a good setting for having a bush dinner. Guests can explore the nature reserve with a safari and the 24-hour staff can help. For the younger guests a children’s play ground is also provided. The airstrip is only a 10-minute drive away and a shuttle service is given on request.
Site
The lodge is within Kenya’s Maasai Mara national reserve, which is at an altitude of 1,617 metres above sea level. Over 700 square miles of lush, sun-drenched plains encircle the lodge, the 1st lodge in the Maasai Mara game reserve in southwest Kenya. The lodge was opened in 1962 and is in the direct path of the spectacular animal migration that occurs every year from July to October. Guests can experience unparalleled safari adventures, and morning and evening game drives are a must for anyone visiting the reserve.
The camp
Located in the very heart of Kenya’s fabled Maasai Mara national reserve, Keekorok, meaning motley abundance in the local Maasai language, was constructed in 1962 on a choice eighty-acre site in an area of permanent springs and lush grassland. Accommodation is on a full board basis that includes morning tea or coffee, breakfast, luncheon, afternoon tea and dinner. Luncheon boxes are available by prior request for guests taking all-day game drives.

Food
The restaurant at the lodge serves a variety of traditional African, Asian and Western food. The bar serves a fine collection of whiskies and cigars along with exquisite freshly ground Kenyan coffee.
Guides
The camps game driver/guides take pride in their intimate knowledge of the reserve in which they operate. Driver Guides are qualified by the Kenya Professional safari guides association. As your plane lands at the Keekorok airstrip, you will find yourself in the heart of the Maasai Mara reserve. You will be picked up in your own 4×4 Land Cruiser at the airstrip and, after passing a family of elephants or a herd of zebras on the short drive to the lodge, Keekorok lodge will welcome you with open arms.
